Missing Miami

It's been so dam nutty around here the last few weeks (and I'm not even going to Miami!) that I couldn't get it together to pull off a brand spankin' new mix with hot off the press trax, but... fear not. This mix somehow ended up on my iPod (that's right, I still don't have an iPhone) a few weeks ago and surprised me how good these tracks sound. Pretty much songs that got propper punnishings over Summer 2006 into Winter 2007. Kicks off with some earlier Movim releases from 05 that still stand out and hold up really really really well.

Demarkus Lewis Misbelievin' EP

With a fresh new release on Artizan Music, it seems like a fine time to plug both Demarkus & Artizan. Demarkus is prolific without a doubt, and we're lucky he is. I've yet to find a release that disappoints, and he most definitely delivers with the Misbelievin' EP in his tradmark deep heavenly slices that he does so dam well. Artizan lablemates Jafar & Touch, and Tim Split join in the fun kicking things up a notch but keeping it deep. Digitals aren't available for another month or so, but you can get a jump on things by nabbing the limited vinyl! While you're there, I highly recommend checking Artizan's back catalog. With only 7 releases to their name, with the likes of Rithma, Jafar, Poussez (Jafar and Maxime Cescau), among others, they're really showing some smart thinkin in thier A&R. Ask Somebody! presents 1200 Warriors. February 28th. NYC

Alright kids.. brace yrselves for a knockout set by the 1200 Warriors this weekend. These guys are by FAR huge faves of all the "Ask Somebody!" crew, so as you can imagine, we are totally and majorly STOKED!

If your not familiar, 1200 Warriors have been releasing house tracks since their debut on Defected in 2004 with the Gangsta House track, but they blew the roof off & knocked down the walls last WMC with their Jazzo track as well as with their remix of Natural Rhythm's 'Saturdays.' Their more recent Loose Control remix of Wu-Tang takes it up one more notch.

Junior & Choco (aka G Dubs) dj style is a pure & raw rhythm orgy, the kind that leaves you tappin yr toes well into the next day. Think I'm layin' it on thick?? I dare you to find out!

Smoke City's AB Logic, Ill Beats Colllective's Dbow and Lou Cass, Brian Anderson and Pedro DaCosta, along with yours truely, will warm the house with our ever reliable jackin' shenannigans!

I should just call this one "Stacy Kidd Promo Mix" since I got a little carried away laying em on this one. His set of two new releases, "Predictable" & "Unpredictable" with total of some 22 tracks, some straight up reissues, and some reworkings, and some brand spankin' new, just hit the stores earlier this month. Perfect timing too, cause there's nothing like Stacy Kidd to brighten the dead days of Winter! We kick this off with the Jeno's genius rework of Rocket's "People." My apologies there were some issues with the levels early on.. but got that sorted pretty quickly.
